Question 1) Why Do We Need It? -(respiratory system)

  The respiratory system shows the apparatus for breathing. Breathing is the process by which oxygen in the air is brought into the lungs and into close contact with the blood. which absorbs it and carries it to all parts of the body. At the same time the blood gives up waste matter (carbon dioxide), which is carried out of the lungs with the air breathed out.

This website has answered the first question 1 in very clear terms, which easily understood.

We use our chest muscle and our diaphragm to breathe and by this our chest is expanding. The air rushes down to our lungs by the pressure of the expanding chest. In a result breathing out is easy, our muscles relax, and then all our air is squeezed out.
