My Final Post :)

I have now finished all of my science assignment and now I am really relieved and happy :)

Evaluation

The roles that I took on this assignment is that I researched and answered the questions on my blog, that I was allocated by my group. I also helped my group members where they needed help and I did my part of the assignment. The thing that I liked working as a group was that all of us worked together and we supported and helped each other. The difficult thing that was working as a group was that each of us had different ideas for the science assignment so the ideas sort of clashed together and we couldn't use all of our ideas. What I learnt about working as a group was how to work with others and being equal to each other. My group and I worked really efficiently together on the science assignment. Everybody in my group also including me contributed to the science assignment equally and enthusiastically. I worked really well as an individual as part of my group because I put in a lot effort into my work and I contributed to my group members. The strengths that I have as a group member is that I have really good team leader skills, I can work really well with others, I have good listening skills that means I listen to other peoples ideas and their says and I put my 100% effort in all I do. The weakness that I have as a group member is that I can worry a lot if I think that something is wrong but sometimes those things end up not being wrong. To improve my group work I could recommend to myself to take it easy, don't worry a lot and just be happy and enjoy :)

Preparing The Final Presentation

Today in science, my group and I worked on our Wix presentation. We today finished the activity sheet
that the class will receive. I also helped Tanisha with her 3 questions and how she could present them to the class very engagingly. I told Tanisha about a website that has animation on it about how the respiratory system works and all its functions and that she could use it to present to the class, which will also be very useful for her. When we showed the animation to Mr Lennon he said, he really liked it a lot and that Tanisha could use it to present her 3 questions. We also showed to Mr Lennon the video that my group and I made  at Drishti's house and Mr Lennon said our video was excellent and that the students would get really engaged in our presentation.
Today I didn't get to go to the library with Tanisha and Drishti because I was busy doing something else for another assignment.

The only things that I have left to go are:
                      * Finish the Wix presentation (just go to answer Q 6 & 7)
                      * Finalize the script
                      * Just go to write I think 2 more final posts for my science assessment
                      * Evaluation

Question 6) Good Habits? -(respiratory system)

Some good habits that a person can do to promote the health of the respiratory system is:

> Don’t Smoke!

> Control outdoor air pollution and keep the air we breathe clean

> Do physical exercises or any vigorous sports regularly, so that your lungs become stronger and so that receive oxygen in your whole body

> Avoid breathing toxic fumes from chemicals, solvents, and paints. Wear a protective mask when you work with chemicals and report unsafe working conditions.

Question 7) Which Doctor? -(respiratory system)

A doctor who specializes in respiratory disease is known as a pulmonologist, a respiratory medicine specialist, a respirologist or a thoracic medicine specialist.

Pulmonology is the study and science of the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the lungs. It is considered as a subspecialty of internal medicine as it deals with the study and treatment of the diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract.

Drishti's Place

Today my group and I got together at Drishti's place and we worked on our science presentation.
First of all Drishti finalized the template design for our science presentation and she also edited the layout of it on Wix.com and Tanisha was writing a draft script for all of us on what we are going to say in our presentation in front of the class. Then Tanisha, Drishti and I recorded an introductory video for our science presentation and we recorded this video on Drishti's camera. Because I am presenting questions 6 and 7 Tanisha and Drishti helped me research for those questions. Last of all we prepared together the activity sheet that Drishti and I will be giving to each student.

Presenting Decision

Today we were in the computor lab because we had to work on our science assignments plus todays lesson was a cover up for the lesson we missed out on for our science assignments because of the laptop problems.
My group and I have decided that Tanisha will be presenting questions 1, 2, 3 in our science
presentation, Drishti will be presenting questions 4 and 5 in our presentation, and I will be
presenting questions 6 and 7 in our presentation. Also our group has decided that drishti and I will be making the class handout, on our class handout we will have words that you have to match to the definition and a diagram that the class would have to label. Drishti is making the words that you have to match to the meanings and I am making the diagram that the class would have to label.

Problems

Jowelle decided that she doesn't want to be in our group anymore, for the science assignment.
So Mr Lennon decided to send Jowelle to another group and my group and I were fine with that.

Descisions

Today we had our science class in the library and we worked on our science assessments.
My group and I have decided that we are going to use Wix
for our group presentation. Today each of us made a Wix account and we
explored the Wix website and we have looked at various of templates.
When my group and I will present our presentation we will have open 3 tabs at the top becasue
each of us would have allocated certain number of questions for each of us to present.
Mr Lennon helped us find a nice and simple template for our science presentaion which was
very helpful of him.

Because Jowelle has left our group my group and I have decided that Tanisha will still do question 6 but I will do question 7 instead of question 6.

More Planning

Today my group and I looked at the website Wix.com. My group and I thought that Wix is good way to present our presentation about the respiratory system, but we are still unsure becasue we reckon there are more possible ways to present our presentation in a better way. We also want to make it easy for other students to learn about our respiratory system so that is why we are going to choose the best way to present our our presentation.

This video is showing how the respiratory system works in very detail, it gives a great understanding of it, and it also shows us how us humans breathe and the process of the respiratory system. This video visualises the respiratory system in a way that it is clear to understand.

Question 1) Why Do We Need It? -(respiratory system)

  The respiratory system shows the apparatus for breathing. Breathing is the process by which oxygen in the air is brought into the lungs and into close contact with the blood. which absorbs it and carries it to all parts of the body. At the same time the blood gives up waste matter (carbon dioxide), which is carried out of the lungs with the air breathed out.

This website has answered the first question 1 in very clear terms, which easily understood.

We use our chest muscle and our diaphragm to breathe and by this our chest is expanding. The air rushes down to our lungs by the pressure of the expanding chest. In a result breathing out is easy, our muscles relax, and then all our air is squeezed out.

Planning

Today Mr Lennon told us the lessons that we are going to work on our science assignment with our group.

These are the lessons we are going to work on our science assignment, but my group and I also decided that we are going to work on our science assignment at home, in our own time. Tanisha and I decided that we are going to answer questions 1,2,3, and 6, and Drishti is answering questions 1,2,3,4,and 5. Jowelle will answer question 7. My group and I are satisfied with questions that we are going to answer and we have decided that we are going to answer all our questions by the end of Week 5.

All these websites are very useful and they are easy to understand because the language is very moderate, it isn't to difficult, there are diagrams to explain the procedure of the respiratory system and there is also some animation on the third website about the respiratory system.
